Dr. Howard

Michael S. Howard, M.D., founder, president and laboratory director of Georgia Dermatopathology, is responsible for Georgia Dermatopathology's diagnostic work, formal client relationships and coordination of certification inspections. He brings more than 15 years of training and experience in the medical sciences to his professional work.

A fourth-generation native Atlantan, Dr. Howard graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, then earned a Master of Science degree from Yale University and a Doctorate in Medicine from the Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Howard is board-certified in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology and holds special certification in dermatopathology from the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship training under two presidents of the American Society of Dermatopathology and has also completed rigorous fellowship training in hematopathology. Dr. Howard's honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa and a Mensa Society fellowship, and he has numerous professional publications in print or pending publication.
